What to Expect
Clients often come to therapy saying that they spend too much time:
-
Worrying about things that might happen in the future
-
Replaying past conversations in their mind trying to figure out if they could have offended someone/ done a better job
-
Avoiding important things out of fear (e.g. doctor's appointments, reaching out to make a friend or begin a relationship, taking on a new role or responsibility at work)
-
Taking care of other's needs and saying yes relflexivly
-
Worrying about what others think of them
They often also say that they are exhausted, stressed, and feel stuck. They don't like feeling so anxious and overwhelmed, but many feel like they don't have the time or mental space to figure how how to make a change.
In therapy you will find:
-
A non-judgemental space to focus on what is important to you, identify how you want to show up in your relationships and life
-
Ways to unhook from difficult thoughts and feelings
-
Strategies to be more present, connected, and intentional
-
An opportunity to discover what you value most
-
Support as you take action towards living a life filled with meaning
