Getting Started

Office.jpeg

Welcome to my office in Concord, MA.

Click on the sections below to walk through what to expect when working with me.

  • Consult Call
First, we will schedule a free 15-20 minute call to answer any questions you might have, see if I am a good fit for you (or your child), and see if our schedules align. Then we schedule the first appointment.
  • Intake Appointments
Under 18 years old? For teens, I schedule two intake, or initial, appointments. They are each 55 minutes long, usually on different days. The first is with parents only and the second is for the teen (parents are welcome to attend this one too, but I leave that choice up to the teen). Over 18 years old? For adults, I also schedule two intake appointments, usually about a week apart and each are 55 minutes long. Regardless of age, I use these first appointments to gather background information, hear what your current concerns are, what you’ve tried already, and what worked and what hasn’t. I will share with you what therapy with me will likely look like and what type of treatment I recommend. Through these first sessions, you will also get a sense of my personality and how you feel about working with me. If you decide that my style of therapy is a good match (I give you time outside of the session to think about it), then we schedule ongoing sessions from there.
  • Therapy
Sessions will be 55 minutes in length, and, in the beginning, I recommend weekly therapy to keep the momentum going that we see in session. Depending on your needs, we may decide to shift to every other week sessions. I like to work collaboratively with clients. We will discuss what your goals are for treatment. You may be interested in short-term focused work around a specific concern, or you may be looking for longer term support. My therapy style involves truly listening to you, asking questions, and sharing scientifically tested treatment strategies. We will work together to identify what is truly important to you and how you can move toward fully living the meaningful life you would like. We will work to identify that outcome picture for you, which often shifts your perspective and increases your ability to approach your anxiety in a different way. Ultimately, I hope to provide you with the skills, perspective, and strategies to deal with your thoughts, emotions and behaviors in a way that moves toward your goals and what is important to you in life.
  • Fees
My fee is $250 per 55-minute psychotherapy session. Sessions are billed electronically with a card kept on file. I charge $250 an hour for other professional services you may need, though I will break down the hourly cost if I work for periods of less than one hour. These services may include: · Report writing · Telephone conversations lasting longer than 20 minutes with teachers, PCPs, pediatricians, and other providers · Attendance at meetings with other professionals you have authorized · Preparation of records or treatment summaries requiring over 20 minutes of work I am not in network with insurance companies. To determine what out-of-network coverage you have, you can contact your insurance company directly. I will provide you with a detailed receipt including the necessary diagnostic and billing codes which you can then submit for reimbursement with your insurance company, if you choose to do so.
  • Virtual & In Person Options
I offer both in person therapy and HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy sessions. I am licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
